Just Drive

Just drive, Baby, just drive
I don't care where we go, just drive
Just drive, Baby, just drive
I don't care where we go, just drive
The sun's like a bullet hole in front of us
The moon winks its eye behind

Run inside, grab some cheap sunglasses
And a couple bottles of Coke
You can always use my shoulder for a pillow
Need a blanket use my overcoat
I hope we never run out of highway
I hope we never run out of time
Forever now, forever young with
You right by my side...

The sign is supposed to say, "deer crossing"
But it looks like a chorus line to me
Here the ground is cracked and hoisted up and
The layers show the years you see
Trees blow in the wind like a first base coach
It looks like they wave us on
'Round the corner up over the hill until
All our past is gone

When darkness falls, I contemplate
My life is just like the night
I can only control just what I see
Just the range of our headlights
The highway rolls in front of us
The future's in darkness just out of reach
I drive in faith that the road's still there
'Cause it's got nothing to do with me...
Approaching jupiter shock

Hunt & Gather

At what temperature does
blood begin to boil?
Does it do it faster under pressure?
With pressure cooks and
eyeball looks
Try to strip me of my manhood.
I'm king of the tribe when
I'm at home yet here
I'm just a rat inside a
maze of phony walls
Florescent sun and
green eyed desk
Sticky notes and paper piles
Maddening I could
beat my chest or
Hunt and gather lunch at best.
My skin turns gray like
small gray cells
As I define my living hell and
Madness of my wasted years
Forever holding back my tears.
Unroll my fist and walk away
So I could work another day
On someone else's
dream not mine
They ask my how I'm doing, fine-
I've simply plotted
all their deaths and
Whispered curses under breath and
Stuffed another temper rise 'till
Me I barely recognize as
Half the man I used to be...
